On Hiatus from Reality

From June 12th-June 25th, Mike and I were on hiatus from the real world!

We arrived in Minnesota (Mike's home state) on Tuesday and left on Sunday. At the airport in Colorado (layover) Mike and I at breakfast at an airport restaurant and had a fantastic view.

I told mike that I love the flowers there, and he stole what for me :]

While enjoying our stay, we did things like:
- BBQ with Mike's parents, brother, sister & brother-in-law
- Went on a fantastic spree at the Mall of America (a surprise anniversary gift from Mike)

- Went to Antler Beach, a lake that Mike would go to all the time growing up

- A rehearsal dinner for Matt & Katie's wedding!

- An afternoon at a pond

- Catching up with old friends
- Good Will and Unique's with my mom-in-law
- A GORGEOUS wedding! We were lucky enough to receive an invite to join in on their magical night!

Father's Day was filled with traveling from Minnesota to North Carolina, then driving to South Carolina. I got to talk with my dad on the phone for a little bit, which was great.

Myrtle Beach was spectacular! We stayed in the BlueGreen condos that his grandparents own. They rented out 4 condos for the whole family! It was just a 2 minute walk to the beach! Lovely!

Some of the activities we enjoyed were:

- Long hours at the beach (oh yeah, my dear friend, Melissa, made me this swim suit. Isn't it gorgeous!)

- Sand Castle building

- Swimming & Hot tubing

- Late nights of Scum
- Throwing grapes off the balcony
- Bingo Night

- Shooting Range
- Catching crabs like crazy
- Boogie Boarding

- Celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary!

It was so fun to be able to celebrate our first anniversary together in Myrtle Beach. I woke up in the morning to Mike getting up and leaving the room. He told me to stay in bed. About 10 minutes later, he came in with a bowl of cereal, a banana, and some OJ for some delicious breakfast in bed. He said he was going to make pancakes, but realized he didn't have all the ingredients. He is so sweet!

For his enjoyment, I sent Mike to go golfing with his uncle right after. He spent a few hours with him putting away. Golfing has become one of his favorite things to do.

When he got back, we hung out for a little bit, made some lunch and visited with the family. Around two, we took off to be on our own. We decided to explore Myrtle Beach a bit. We went to the outlet malls and drove around.
We both don't like sea food at all, and that was pretty much the only kind of food around town. So when we found an Applebees, we jumped on it and went right in for some anniversary dinner.
After dinner, Mike took me to the Ripley's Aquarium. the one place I was DYING to go to! It was AMAZING.

Following that, we went to Broadway at the Beach. Its a cute place, right on a bay. There is a "carnival on a beach" feel to it with different rides and attractions. AMAZING.

Mike did such a good job planning it! I hope I can keep up with him next year!
